Tips On Growing Apricot Trees |
|
|
In areas with wide temperatures swings between day and night, many apricot varieties seem to be susceptible to dropping blossoms before being pollinated. Frost and heavy rains can also damage flowers and adversely affect pollination. Planting less sensitive varieties such as Flora Gold and Tomcot can help increase production in these areas. Another aid is to cover the tree with row cover during inclement weather. We offer this product in Orchard and Garden Supplies. In areas subject to late frosts, plant a late blooming variety like Earli Autumn, Harcot or Harglow or a very frost hardy one like Chinese. This will greatly improve the chances of a successful apricot crop.
